Garcia won the WBC welterweight title in February with a unanimous decision over Mario Barrios at T-Mobile Arena, according to the World Boxing Council. The 27-year-old champion brings a 25-2 record with 20 knockouts into his first defense.
Benn, 29, is 25-1 with 14 knockouts, the WBC's mandatory challenger and, as Sky Sports reports, recently signed a multi-fight deal with Zuffa Boxing. For him, this is the long-awaited leap from contender to official world-title challenger.
