Crispy Cones, the rotisserie-grilled pastry cone chain that scored a deal on Shark Tank, is lining up a Jefferson Park location on Federal Boulevard. Local franchisees Abu and Sharmeen Parvez bought the corner building at West 23rd Avenue and Federal Boulevard and have filed city permits to turn it into a Crispy Cones shop, bringing the chain’s sugar-dusted, made-to-order cones and soft-serve to a busy stretch of west-side Denver.
According to The Denver Post, the Parvezes purchased the property at or near 3000 W. 23rd Ave for about $400,000 and have already submitted buildout permits with the city. The Post reports the couple plans to run the shop themselves, following on the heels of Crispy Cones' first Colorado opening in Centennial earlier this year. The outlet based its story on city permit records and property filings.
From Tent To 'Shark Tank'
Founder Jeremy Carlson started in 2018, selling the flaky, hand-rolled cones from tents and trailers before shifting to brick-and-mortar shops and a franchise model. As Entrepreneur recounts, Crispy Cones' Shark Tank appearance led to a $200,000 investment from Barbara Corcoran in 2023, a cash infusion that helped speed up the chain’s franchise expansion.
Colorado Rollout
The brand’s own locations page lists a Centennial storefront that opened this year and currently marks Denver as "coming soon," signaling that the company is targeting the Denver market, per Crispy Cones. The chain has been growing through franchises across several states, sticking to a streamlined menu of grilled dough cones, sauces, and rotating soft-serve flavors. The Parvezes' purchase and permit filings track with that rapid retail buildout.
What It Means For Federal Boulevard
Federal Boulevard is a long, hard-working commercial corridor that city planners and community groups have recently focused on for safety and economic upgrades, which could affect how new storefronts perform, according to reporting by CBS Colorado. Small local shops and incoming franchises alike can boost foot traffic at busy intersections like Federal and 23rd, and the Parvezes appear to be aiming the store at both neighborhood regulars and drive-by customers. Nearby residents and shoppers should start to notice construction as the buildout progresses.
The Parvezes have not given a specific opening date, but current permit activity and the owners' plans suggest a late-2026 opening window, as reported by The Denver Post. If that timeline holds, Jefferson Park will see a national franchise join its lineup of independent businesses. We have reached out to Crispy Cones and the Parvezes for comment and will update this story as more details on an opening date emerge.
