
An early morning shooting in Tacoma’s South End left a man dead on Monday, and detectives are now trying to unravel what led to the latest burst of violence along South Tacoma Way.
Police said officers were called to the 1000 block of South Tacoma Way at about 12:36 a.m. When they arrived, they found an adult man with apparent gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died. No suspects were in custody as of Monday morning, and investigators are still working to determine what sparked the shooting.
What investigators say
According to KOMO, Tacoma Police officers provided aid to the man at the scene until Tacoma Fire Department crews arrived and transported him to a nearby hospital. The Tacoma Police Department told KOMO that detectives are now focused on tracking down witnesses and identifying any potential suspects.
Police have not released the victim’s name, and investigators have not shared any information about a possible motive, keeping the public picture of the case limited for now.
