A southeast Houston neighborhood woke up Sunday to a grim scene: two people shot to death inside a house on Glen Hollow Drive, with the gunman still unaccounted for.
Houston police officers were called around 2:20 a.m. to the 12800 block of Glen Hollow Drive, where they went inside the residence and found a man and a woman dead from apparent gunshot wounds, as reported by Click2Houston. Crime Scene Unit investigators remained at the home into the morning, combing through evidence.
The homeowner told investigators they did not know the two victims. Detectives believe the man and woman, thought to be in their 20s or 30s, appeared to be residents of the home. No one involved has been publicly identified as the investigation continues.
Police Say Shooting Was Isolated, Killer Still On The Loose
Police said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident that happened inside the home and does not pose an ongoing threat to the general public, according to Click2Houston. Detectives do not believe the victims shot each other. No weapons were found inside the residence, and investigators say a third person is believed to be responsible.
The suspect remains at large and police have not released any description. For now, all investigators are saying publicly is that they are looking for a single shooter and treating the case as a double homicide.
How Residents Can Help Investigators
Several surveillance cameras were visible around the property, and detectives said they plan to review any available video as they work to piece together what happened. Every extra angle and timestamp could matter in a case like this.
According to the Houston Police Department, anyone with information is urged to contact HPD's Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or report tips anonymously to Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS. Authorities are specifically asking neighbors or drivers who may have seen or heard anything unusual in the area early Sunday to come forward. The investigation remains active.
