A 51-year-old Vancouver woman was taken into custody Friday after what deputies describe as a mid-morning road-rage episode that started with a rear-end crash and ended with a brief police chase and a K-9 assist. The driver was arrested and booked into the Clark County Jail on multiple alleged offenses, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

According to FOX 12, deputies were called shortly after 10:30 a.m. to the area of Northeast 72nd Way and Northeast 154th Avenue, where the woman allegedly rear-ended another vehicle. The sheriff’s office identified the driver as 51-year-old Elisabeth Gordon. Deputies later spotted a white 2000s GMC Yukon near Northeast 137th Avenue and Northeast Padden Parkway. When they tried to pull the Yukon over, it took off. The vehicle was ultimately stopped near Northeast Centerpointe Drive and Northeast Andresen Road, where officials say a police dog was deployed to help take Gordon into custody.

How the stop unfolded

The sheriff’s office has not released additional details about possible injuries or other witnesses. Road-rage incidents can escalate quickly, and law enforcement agencies routinely urge drivers to avoid confrontation, keep their distance and call 911 rather than respond in kind. Investigators are now working to piece together what led to the initial collision and to determine whether any further charges might be warranted.

Charges and next steps

As reported by FOX 12, Gordon was booked into the Clark County Jail on suspicion of second-degree assault, attempting to elude, hit-and-run and resisting arrest. Prosecutors will review the case and decide which formal charges to file, and the sheriff’s office says the investigation remains active.
