Haraz Coffee House, the Michigan-born chain known for its spiced Yemeni brews, quietly slipped into Fort Mill this spring with its first South Carolina storefront. The new shop brings cardamom-heavy pots, pistachio lattes and later closing hours to a Len Patterson Road retail strip that has been steadily filling up with restaurants and quick-serve spots.
The Fort Mill location at 2373 Len Patterson Road, Suite 103, held a soft opening on May 20 and keeps extended evening hours, closing at 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 p.m. on weekends, as reported by Post and Courier. Owners Sandeep Madhukuri and Ryan Singhi are operating the store and told the paper they plan to expand into nearby Indian Land. Staffer Maged Khalifa summed up the vibe for the outlet, saying that “people don't just come for the coffee,” and framing the shop as a social hangout as much as a caffeine stop.
Menu highlights
Haraz blends traditional Yemeni pots with a contemporary café lineup. Harazi Mufawar (a cream-and-cardamom brew), Adeni/Karak chai, pistachio lattes and the pull-apart “bee bites” all appear on Haraz menus nationwide, per listings on Uber Eats. The chain pairs those regional flavors with espresso standards and a pastry case set up for both quick grab-and-go orders and long study or catch-up sessions.
Growth and footprint
Local reporting says Haraz has expanded rapidly, with Post and Courier noting roughly 60 stores across 16 states. The brand launched in Dearborn in 2021, according to the Haraz Coffee House site, and founder Hamzah Nasser celebrated Fort Mill as the chain’s 51st location and 15th state in the LinkedIn post embedded above.
Why Fort Mill?
Fort Mill sits just south of Charlotte and has been adding new restaurants and retail as the suburbs grow, and Haraz’s later hours and social menu are aimed at after-dinner crowds and students crossing the county line. Hoodline has tracked similar Haraz openings in other metros, showing a repeated playbook of late hours and culturally driven menu offerings, an approach that helps the brand stand out from typical quick-serve coffee options.
For local customers, Haraz’s hours and the Fort Mill menu are listed on the company’s locations page. The shop joins a growing roster of Yemeni-style cafés bringing new flavors to Charlotte-area suburbs.
