San Antonio’s Pearl-adjacent nightlife scene has a new late-night player: Moonshine Off Grayson, a country-leaning bar from the team behind El Cevichero. The concept combines moonshine, whiskey and cocktails with karaoke, live music, DJs, line dancing and enough bar food to keep the evening from ending too early.
The new spot is now open on Grayson Street, where it joins a growing cluster of bars and restaurants within walking distance of the Pearl complex. According to MySA, Moonshine Off Grayson also plans bar bites from pop-ups including Pete’s Hot Chicken, giving the drinks-first concept a rotating food angle.
The bar is the latest project tied to Abel Mota Jr. and the team behind El Cevichero, a business that began during the pandemic as a ceviche delivery service prepared from Mota’s mother’s home kitchen, as reported by the San Antonio Current. El Cevichero’s own site continues to showcase a seafood-heavy menu built around ceviche, aguachile and shrimp cocktails, making the new bar a noticeable pivot toward whiskey, nightlife and country music.
Moonshine Off Grayson Sets A Full Week Of Nightlife
The posted schedule runs from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Wednesday through Friday, noon to 2 a.m. Saturday and noon to midnight Sunday. MySA reports that Wednesdays are reserved for karaoke from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., Thursdays bring a weekly Honky-Tonk Thursday, and live musicians and DJs are scheduled Friday through Sunday.
Moonshine Off Grayson arrives as the corridor continues its food-and-drink buildup just across from the Pearl. Earlier Grayson Street’s glow-up coverage highlighted a wave of new pizza, burger and bar concepts nearby, and this latest opening gives the stretch another reason to keep the night going after dinner.
