Good Times at Davey Wayne’s, the retro Hollywood bar known for its throwback atmosphere, has been temporarily shut down after Los Angeles County health inspectors found a vermin infestation. The closure puts one of the neighborhood’s recognizable nightlife spots on pause while it works through health-code violations.
According to ABC7 Los Angeles, the bar was ordered closed after a recent inspection, and county officials had not immediately released additional details about the findings. The venue’s own website describes it as a 1970s-themed bar created as a tribute to David Wayne Houston.
County Reinspection Required Before Service Returns
Los Angeles County Department of Public Health guidance says restaurant inspections cover sanitation, food handling, water, employee hygiene and whether a facility is maintained free of vermin. Businesses must correct serious violations and complete any required follow-up inspection before their permits are restored and customers can return.
Davey Wayne’s Joins A Broader L.A. Closure Wave
The Hollywood shutdown also lands during a broader run of pest-related closures across Los Angeles County. In a May report, The Los Angeles Times counted more than 120 vermin citations at county food facilities in 2026 through mid-May, including 67 in April alone. The category can involve rodents, cockroaches or flies, rather than referring only to rats.
For now, Davey Wayne’s is working to address the violations, but no reopening date has been announced. ABC7 Los Angeles reported that the bar will need to correct the problems and pass a follow-up inspection before it can welcome customers back.
