A Houston big rig wound up looking like it had been attacked by its own cargo Friday evening, after metal pipes appeared to punch through the cab on the westbound North Loop. The bizarre-looking crash snarled traffic and closed at least two lanes near Fulton Street.
Images from SkyEye13 showed the trailer's apparent metal-pipe load penetrating the back of the cab, with broken glass visible along the side of the stopped 18-wheeler, according to ABC13 Houston. The report did not say whether another vehicle was involved or provide an update on the driver's condition.
Officials had not immediately released additional details about what caused the load to shift or how long the lane closures would last. An investigation was underway, and drivers moving through the westbound North Loop near Fulton should expect the possibility of lingering delays while the truck and its cargo are cleared.

Another Big-Rig Headache On Houston's North Loop
The scene follows another major truck-related disruption on the same freeway. In May, an overturned big rig shut down the westbound North Loop near McCarty Street and triggered a hazardous-materials response, as Hoodline's earlier report noted.
Friday's crash was reported near Fulton rather than McCarty, but it delivered the same familiar Houston consequence: a disabled heavy truck turning a busy stretch of the Loop into a traffic problem. Authorities had not announced injuries, citations or a timeline for reopening the affected lanes by the time of the initial report.
