Nearly six weeks after a man allegedly walked out of a Houston business with a bag of unpaid merchandise, robbery detectives are asking the public to help put a name to the face. The suspect is wanted in a June 26 robbery near Studemont, and police say a cash reward may be available for information leading to an arrest.
According to a Tuesday post from Houston Police Robbery, the incident happened June 26 in the 1400 block of Studemont Street. The complainant was working as a security guard at a general business when the suspect entered empty-handed and began gathering merchandise.
Police Say Suspect Left After Receipt Dispute
The complainant asked the man for a receipt after he passed all points of sale and started leaving with a bag of items, according to the police account. An altercation followed, and the suspect left the scene in an unknown direction.
Police describe the suspect as a Black male with a slim build who was wearing a red button-up shirt, shorts and a baseball cap. The case is listed as Houston Police Department case No. 814542-26.

Crime Stoppers of Houston says anonymous tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the charging or arrest of felony suspects. Tips must be submitted directly through Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous and qualify for a potential payment.
Anyone with information can call 713-222-TIPS, use the Crime Stoppers Houston mobile app or submit a tip online. The public appeal was issued Tuesday, August 4, more than five weeks after the robbery, and the bulletin did not identify the suspect by name or announce an arrest.
