South Charlotte’s dessert circuit just got a glossy new sugar bomb. Melt n Dip has opened at The Arboretum, bringing towering crêpes, Belgian chocolate, gelato and enough sweet options to turn a quick shopping trip into a full-blown dessert mission.
The international dessert boutique is now serving its first Charlotte-area and North Carolina location, according to the latest Charlotte Observer report. The menu includes more than a dozen crêpe creations, along with waffles, cakes, fruit salads, gelato, espresso-based drinks, tea and Turkish coffee.
Melt n Dip’s arrival has been a long time coming: The brand first teased plans for a Charlotte opening in June 2025. In an earlier announcement, franchisee Dawla Rammounieh said the company was “thrilled” to bring its dessert experience to The Arboretum and hoped to become a destination for guests of all ages, as previously reported by the Charlotte Observer.
Belgian Chocolate Covers Nearly Everything
On the crêpe side, diners can choose from combinations involving fruit, cream, cinnamon, cookie butter, red velvet flavors and gelato. The brand’s official menu shows many creations finished with milk, dark and white Belgian chocolate, including a fettuccine-style crêpe served with vanilla gelato.
The shop also leans hard into shareable dessert plates. A Charlotte Observer reviewer tried the My Passion dip plate for one, which comes with fruit, brownies, éclair and marshmallow covered in Belgian milk chocolate, while other reviewers gave positive marks to the Kinder and pistachio dessert trays.
A Sit-Down Dessert Stop For South Charlotte
Rather than functioning as a simple ice cream counter, Melt n Dip is positioning itself as a polished dessert restaurant with a broad menu and a family-friendly atmosphere. That gives The Arboretum another late-day destination for shoppers, families and anyone who believes dinner is merely a prelude to chocolate.
The Charlotte opening also expands the U.S. footprint of a brand that operates locations in several states, including Florida, Illinois, Texas and Georgia, according to Melt n Dip’s location directory. For Charlotte sweet-tooths, the main question now may be less whether to stop by and more how many toppings can reasonably fit on one crêpe.
