A 41-year-old woman was walking in front of 1375 Grand Concourse in the Bronx around 9 p.m. on May 18 when an unidentified person walked up, grabbed the chain around her neck and yanked it off before running west toward Elliot Street. Months later, the case remains unsolved, and police are turning to the public for help.
According to NYPD Crime Stoppers
, the robbery happened within the confines of the 44th Precinct, and the individual has not been identified. The post describes the attacker approaching the woman directly before grabbing and forcefully removing the chain from around her neck, then fleeing on foot.
Cash Reward Now on the Table
NYPD Crime Stoppers is now offering up to $3,500 for an anonymous tip that leads to an arrest and indictment in the case. The agency, based in New York, is asking anyone with information to come forward through its usual channels.

A Recurring Trouble Spot
Grand Concourse has seen other robbery cases draw NYPD attention in recent years. In 2025, a 15-year-old boy was reportedly robbed near East 170th Street and Grand Concourse at around 10:30 a.m., according to News 12 The Bronx. Separately, a robbery near Grand Concourse and Walton Avenue targeting a 41-year-old man was reported by Bronx Times back in 2020.
Police have also pursued broader patterns of street robberies across the borough. A string of at least eight Bronx robberies tied to suspects using scooters or motorcycles drew a search for several suspects, as reported by Norwood News.
