A 37-year-old man was stabbed in the abdomen in Bushwick on Wednesday morning after what investigators describe as a fight over money, leaving him hospitalized and police searching for a shirtless suspect last seen fleeing the scene.
Police say the stabbing happened around 9:45 a.m. on Bushwick Avenue between Kosciuszko and Stanhope streets, according to News12 Brooklyn. Investigators say the confrontation began over a dispute about money before it turned physical and then violent.
The victim was stabbed in the abdomen and taken to Kings County Hospital Center, per the same report. Police described the suspect as shirtless, wearing gray pants and red-and-black sneakers, though no arrest or suspect identity has been announced.
A Pattern of Bushwick Stabbings Caught on Camera
Wednesday's stabbing is not the first violent altercation to unfold in the neighborhood in recent years. In the 2020 case, investigators said a suspect got into an argument with a 40-year-old man that quickly escalated into a physical fight.
