A nearly two-year manhunt for two people wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of Daniel Perry at a Cleveland gas station has ended, with both suspects now in custody hundreds of miles apart. Ronald Thomas was captured in Arkansas in December 2025, while Brittny Kirby was tracked down in a suburb of Atlanta earlier this week, finally closing out a search that stretched across multiple states.

A Deadly Night at a Cleveland Sunoco

Perry, who was 34, was shot and killed at a Sunoco gas station on East 131st Street and Harvard Avenue in Cleveland on December 2, 2024, according to WHIO. Thomas and Kirby were both wanted in connection with his killing, and investigators say they searched for the pair in the nearly two years since the shooting. As reported by FOX 8 News, members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force followed leads both in Ohio and out of state as they worked to locate the two suspects.

The U.S. Marshals Service said Thomas was wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police for aggravated murder, per the agency's own account of the case. Reports on the ages of those involved have varied: FOX 8 News identified Thomas and Kirby as both 35 years old, while the U.S. Marshals Service listed Thomas as 34.

Arkansas Takedown Ends Part of the Search

The first break came in December 2025, when officers located Thomas in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and arrested him during a vehicle stop, the station's report notes. WHIO reported that the arrest actually took place during a vehicle takedown in Russellville, Arkansas — a city roughly 935 miles from Cleveland. Ohio-based U.S. Marshals worked with the U.S. Marshals Service Western Arkansas Fugitive Task Force and Arkansas State Police to make the arrest, and Thomas has since been held at the Cuyahoga County Jail, per the same account.

Second Suspect Located Near Atlanta

Kirby remained at large for nearly another year before investigators caught up with her this week. Information led officers to believe Kirby was living in Stonecrest, Georgia, a city about 20 miles from Atlanta, and on October 1, Marshal officers in Georgia found her there, according to FOX 8 News. When officers arrived, Kirby reportedly refused to open the door for them before she was ultimately taken into custody.

She remains in custody in Georgia pending extradition back to Ohio, the outlet reported. No arraignment date, plea, bond ruling or attorney information for either suspect has been made public.
