A 23-year-old Glastonbury man is behind bars on a $300,000 bond, accused of giving alcohol to an underage girl and then sexually assaulting her while she was in no condition to consent. Daniel Sullivan Treadway was arrested on a warrant earlier this month. He is due back in court later this week.
According to Patch, Treadway was arrested on Oct. 15 and has been charged with second-degree sexual assault involving a victim who is unable to consent, supplying alcohol to a minor and second-degree reckless endangerment. The same report says court records show him held on the $300,000 bond, with a return to Manchester Superior Court on Oct. 30. The girl was known to Treadway, the report says.
What the Warrant Affidavit Describes
Details of the allegations come from the arrest warrant affidavit, as reported by CT Insider. The affidavit says a teenager reported the alleged assault to investigators on Oct. 24, 2025, and that Treadway provided alcohol to the victim and another juvenile. It also says he brought both of them alcoholic nips.
The victim described herself and the other juvenile as “pretty drunk” in a police interview. The other juvenile told police they vomited from the amount of alcohol consumed and was “kind of out of it” beforehand. According to the affidavit, the victim was passed out from intoxication when the alleged assault occurred.
The victim told police she lay down in bed after the other juvenile fell asleep, recalled Treadway entering the room, and could not remember what happened next. She said she woke up being sexually assaulted and was missing her pants, though she remembered falling asleep in a hoodie and pants. The other juvenile told police they heard Treadway enter and ask whether both were okay.
Aftermath and Efforts to Reach Treadway
The affidavit says the victim woke the other juvenile and told them what happened, and the two discussed whether to report it. Both said they did not think reporting would be a good idea, and the victim told police she feared coming forward because she had consumed alcohol as a minor. A person whose identity was redacted confronted Treadway a day after the report, and he was ordered to leave the residence, the affidavit says.
A witness told police they had brought Treadway to a liquor store to buy alcohol earlier that day. The affidavit says the witness told Treadway that giving alcohol to both youths was illegal, and he responded that they were nearly old enough to drink. He also believed he was in trouble for supplying alcohol to both minors, the affidavit states, and told someone he was scared and planned to run.
According to the affidavit, Treadway made a hypothetical claim that the assault would be consensual because both were drinking. Police say they tried to interview him multiple times without obtaining information, and he said he would get an attorney. An attorney claiming to represent him later contacted police to set up a meeting, but the affidavit says Treadway did not attend. He reached out again within a few weeks and, per police, skipped the next scheduled meeting too.
Legal Backdrop and Other Cases
Connecticut's statutes on offenses against the person, published by the Connecticut General Assembly, include a cited case-law excerpt saying a fact finder could reasonably conclude that giving alcohol to a minor before an alleged sexual assault could impair the child's health or morals, even if the child was not actually impaired by the alcohol. That describes a possible legal conclusion in a cited case and does not predict the outcome here. No plea, conviction or other disposition has been reported.
Court records cited by CT Insider show Treadway has pending cases in Meriden involving illegal operation of a motor vehicle under suspension and illegal weapon possession in a motor vehicle. He is also charged with first-degree criminal trespass in Willimantic. In 2024, he was fined $200 after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct, per the same records.
