A new indoor golf concept is headed for Fort Worth's Alliance Corridor, with The Back Nine Golf planning to open a location at 4200 Heritage Trace Pkwy., Suite 100. The facility would bring the chain's Full Swing simulator technology, which tracks swing speed, launch angle and ball speed, to a stretch of North Fort Worth that has seen steady retail growth in recent years.

According to WhatNow, permitting records list a construction completion date of January 2027 for the project, though no public opening date has been confirmed. Reagan Bluth, listed as the tenant on the project, is identified as a franchisee and co-owner of The Back Nine Golf, but has not provided further details on the opening timeline, per the same report.

Bluth framed the Fort Worth expansion as a response to local demand, saying golfers in the area have shown they want a private, high-quality indoor experience close to home. Most Back Nine locations operate on a staff-free, 24/7 basis through a membership model, a structure the company has used as it has rapidly built out its footprint across North Texas and beyond.

How the Format Works Elsewhere in North Texas

The Fort Worth plans follow a pattern already visible across other Back Nine sites in the region. The company opened a Flower Mound location in 2025 featuring four private, sound-insulated bays, the report notes. That Flower Mound project had been approved by the town council in October 2024 at roughly 3,227 square feet, designed to run around the clock without onsite staff, according to Community Impact.

Farther north, the Denton location at Hickory Creek Plaza officially opened in late December, according to owner James Price, and features a 140-square-foot putting green along with four simulator bays, one of them a private suite, the Denton report states. That location offers membership packages while letting nonmembers rent a bay for $50 an hour, the same report notes.

In Southlake, the chain planned three private, sound-insulated bays with seating for four, with a grand opening event scheduled for noon to 5 p.m. on August 29. The Back Nine Golf's own Southlake page states that a membership is not required to book a tee time there, with rates starting at $50 per hour.

A Chain Expanding Fast Across Texas and Beyond

The Back Nine Golf's existing Texas footprint, per WhatNow, spans Allen, McKinney, Frisco, Flower Mound, Denton, Arlington, Grand Prairie, Austin, Houston, Katy, League City, Lubbock, Midland and Odessa. A separate Community Impact report on the Denton opening listed locations in Flower Mound, Plano, McKinney and Allen according to the company's website — the two accounts diverge on specifics, but both point to a brand with a dense and growing Texas presence.

That growth tracks with national numbers reported by Franchise Times, which found the company has roughly 150 locations and has been opening about 20 units a month, after launching nine locations in 2023 and 18 in 2024. The outlet also reported that Back Nine Golf operates in 13 states, a figure Community Impact's Flower Mound coverage separately confirmed.

The Back Nine Golf was founded in 2020 in St. George, Utah, by Wil Bangerter, Franchise Times reported, and has since built a model where franchisees often keep separate full-time jobs because the automated units require little day-to-day staffing. The outlet put franchise startup costs between $276,050 and $603,550, and noted that for the 22 locations reported in the 2025 franchise disclosure document, the rolling 12-month average monthly revenue came in at $16,238. Facilities typically run between 2,000 and 4,000 square feet with three to six simulators apiece, according to the same report.

More Texas Openings on the Horizon

The Round Rock-Hutto area location, which opened offering 24/7 access along with individual and corporate memberships and private-event bookings, shows the model extending into Central Texas as well, per Community Impact. Meanwhile, WhatNow, citing What Now San Antonio, reported that a new West San Antonio location is targeting a November or December debut, adding another market to the chain's expansion list.

For now, Fort Worth golfers eager to try the simulators will have to wait on specifics. The permitting timeline points toward construction wrapping up in January 2027, but whether that translates into an opening around the same window, or later, has not been spelled out by Bluth or the company.
