Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons are coming back to Louisville. Jersey Boys, the Tony Award-winning musical chronicling the group's rise from the streets of New Jersey to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, opens Tuesday at the Kentucky Center for a run through Oct. 11, marking the show's first appearance in Louisville in 16 years.
A Long-Awaited Comeback for the Jukebox Musical
The production is part of the 2026-27 PNC Broadway in Louisville season, according to Kentucky Performing Arts, which confirmed Jersey Boys is returning to the city for the first time in 16 years. The musical is billed on its official tour site as a Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning show, and the current engagement is being presented as the Jersey Boys 20th Anniversary US Tour, per jerseyboysinfo.com.
The jukebox musical traces Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons from their humble New Jersey beginnings through their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, according to the same tour site. Audiences can expect to hear the group's signature hits, including “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don't Cry,” “Oh What a Night,” “Walk Like a Man,” “Can't Take My Eyes Off You,” “Beggin'” and “Working My Way Back to You.”
Scheduling Details Still Coming Into Focus
The tour listing places the Louisville engagement at the Kentucky Center from Oct. 6 through Oct. 11, 2026, though that specific date range carries lower confidence than other details in the show's promotional materials. As The Courier-Journal reported, the Tony-winning musical is heading to Louisville this October as part of the citywide Broadway lineup.
Season tickets for the 2026-27 PNC Broadway in Louisville slate were first made available to renewing subscribers, with new season tickets opening to the general public beginning April 3, Kentucky Performing Arts noted in its season announcement. That rollout places Jersey Boys alongside a run of shows making their Louisville debuts.
Part of a Premiere-Heavy Broadway Season
The 2026-27 season welcomes five Louisville premieres, including the 2025 Tony Award-winning Best Musical Maybe Happy Ending, along with Death Becomes Her, Boop! The Musical, Hell's Kitchen and A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical, per Kentucky Performing Arts' announcement. Jersey Boys stands out in that lineup as a returning favorite rather than a newcomer, giving longtime fans a chance to revisit the show after a 16-year gap in local stagings.
Louisville audiences haven't gone entirely without a Jersey Boys fix in recent years. Derby Dinner Playhouse staged its own production of the musical just across the river in Clarksville, Indiana, running from Aug. 14 through Sept. 29, 2024, according to BroadwayWorld. That regional staging was directed by Lee Buckholz, with choreography by Heather Paige Folsom and musical direction by Scott Bradley, the outlet reported.
