Eddie Carr, 58, was booked after an Oct. 13 Baton Rouge RaceTrac robbery and ensuing police pursuit, according to WBRZ. The reported charges include simple robbery, resisting an officer, aggravated flight from an officer, illegal possession of stolen firearms, driving without a license and running a red light.

Police also sought Kevonte Green and Franklin Bennett in connection with the case. KPEL reported that warrants had been issued for both and that their charges were the same as Carr’s. KPEL said their custody status was unavailable at publication; the charges against all three men are allegations, and none had been convicted. WBRZ spells Bennett’s surname “Bennet.”

Accounts of the recovered property say cigarettes were found in Carr’s vehicle, along with a stolen firearm. WBRZ reported that police recovered two large bags of cigarettes and returned them to the store, and that the handgun was behind the driver’s seat. KPEL cited arrest documents describing cigarettes in the backseat and a stolen firearm inside the vehicle.

Police responded to the RaceTrac near Old Hammond Highway and Cedarcrest Avenue at 2:57 a.m. on Oct. 13, according to KPEL. The outlet reported that two masked men took cigarettes while a clerk was serving a customer, then left in a white Chevrolet Tahoe. KPEL and The Advocate put the reported value at $8,702; WBRZ reported $8,700.

The Tahoe traveled through BREC’s Parkview park and stopped in a North Parkview Drive driveway, where the three occupants ran, according to KPEL. WBRZ reported that police used a drone and K-9 units to locate Carr after he had reportedly spent more than 30 minutes hiding in a nearby neighborhood.
