Brian Egan, 43, faces third-degree assault and criminal obstruction of breathing charges, both class A misdemeanors, after Yorktown police investigated a woman’s report of an alleged domestic incident from October.
The woman went to Yorktown police headquarters around 6:45 p.m. on Nov. 3 to report the earlier incident, according to Halston Media. Police allege that on Oct. 5, Egan pushed the woman, bit her hard enough to cause physical injury and choked her by applying pressure to her throat or neck.
Arrest and court proceedings
Police said their investigation led to Egan’s arrest at his home at about 8:07 p.m. on Nov. 3—the same evening the woman reported the incident. Officers took him to police headquarters for processing, the outlet reported.
Egan was arraigned before Judge Aviah Cohen-Pierson, who issued a temporary order of protection for the woman. He was released on his own recognizance following the arraignment, per the same report.
Court Date Set for Later This Month
Egan is due back in Yorktown Justice Court at 6 p.m. on November 19. No additional case details, including a response from Egan or his attorney, have been made public.
