The neighborhood continues to weather a storm of post-pandemic closures, but there's at least one bright spot.

The neighborhood has seen nearly a dozen business closures since the start of the pandemic.

The Castro Merchants' president said the resulting foot traffic will provide "much-needed relief" to area businesses.

The Walgreens, whose theft-plagued empty shelves went viral earlier this year, will close at the end of August.

Plus, a Cow Hollow consignment shop is closing and consolidating its inventory to the Castro.

In this week's Upper Haight business brief, two longtime clothiers close permanently, and a new vintage store appears to have changed its plans about opening.

Two neighborhood boutiques are also closing.

"I'm done," says the party store's owner, a third-generation San Francisco native who plans to leave the city after the closure.

"It's really been heartbreaking," said Molly Goodson, who co-founded the women's club in a former church in the Mission.

Valencia Street's popular record shop is consolidating to Oakland, giving its co-tenant a chance to expand into the full space.

Known for its minimalist fashion and home goods, the Japanese retailer has pulled out of its stores in SoMa, San Jose and Palo Alto.

The milliner's Haight Street store, one of several in San Francisco, is calling it quits.
