What do curly hair, fried chicken, and a titanium wedding ring have in common? That's right -- they're all in this week's leftovers.
Shall we?
Tonight, starting at 6pm, Vinyl (359 Divisadero) hosts its official "Better Late Than Never" Grand Opening Party, featuring free pints of Mission Brewery Kolsch (at least until the keg is tapped), and $6 glasses of wine all night.
Tomorrow (Saturday) from 1pm to 6pm, it's brewtruc's charity beer garden at 160 Church Street, in the parking lot behind the old Blockbuster. You already know all about this from our story earlier this week, of course, but consider yourself reminded.
This week, the Bold Italic published a guide for Moving to San Francisco, featuring an entertaining breakdown of SF's different neighborhoods. About the Lower Haight, the author writes:
While we're talking Bold Italic, last week the site posted a story called "Kinky Creatures" about the best places for people with curly hair to get styled in the city. Featured in the story are our very own Edo Salon, Madusalon, Rubio and Raven, and Wak Shack.
Recently we asked you what animal best represents the Lower Haight. The consensus seemed to be: the raven. Now, theGRQP (the duo of artists putting these neighborhood prints together) has released its design for their official Lower Haight print. There's an Upper Haight version as well. Check 'em out.
Did you know Wing Wings has now added fried chicken to their regular menu? Well, you should. And now you do.
You know that big tree that fell down on Haight Street Monday, crushing a gray Ford? This week we heard from the Ford's owner:
Finally, did any of you married men lose a titanium wedding ring this week, accidentally or otherwise? Well, somebody found one at Haight and Steiner. If you think it might be yours, get in touch.
That's all we've got this week. What else is there? tips [at] haighteration {{dot}} com.

'The Upper Haight's hot younger sister. This place is deemed "cool to live in" by what seems to be "everyone and their everyone." Do yourself a favor and just rent here on autopilot. Seems to be like buying Apple stock.'Sounds about right.

"I was shocked by the damage, and the force of the falling tree was clearly frighteningly intense. Thanks to everyone in the neighborhood for their support, photo taking, and kind words while we were waiting for the site to clear. Things are just things, and we're glad no one was injured. I'm sure we're not the only ones who are curious about the cause of fall, so we welcome any information that might help us get to the bottom of it. Again, much thanks to all who were there to lend a hand."
