Lower Haight Leftovers: Bento Box Edition
Grab your chopsticks, because we've got no fewer than ten little news nuggets that nearly slipped through the cracks this week. Let's get to it.

Remember two weekends ago, when the N and J Muni lines were shut down? That's happening again this weekend. From 7pm tonight until 5am Monday, those lines are going to be disrupted. Also, on Church between Market and Duboce, "demolition of the track will generate loud noise (jackhammering)" from 8pm tonight until early tomorrow morning. So, something to look forward to.
Tonight, it's another edition of Berlin-Style Ping Pong at D-Structure, courtesy of American Tripps. If you've missed our many, many explanations of b-style p.p., it's kind of like duck-duck-goose, except you're holding a small paddle and getting progressively boozy. Tonight's festivities run from 8:30pm to 12:30am at D-Structure, 520 Haight.
Maven wins the award for most buzz in the neighborhood this week. First, Grub Street named the restaurant's burger #3 on its list of the top 50 burgers in San Francisco. Then, Tablehopper broke the news that Maven will be launching brunch service next weekend. We'll have more on that next week.
Everyone from SFist to SFPD Captain Ann Mannix noticed a KRON video about bicyclists getting ticketed on the Wiggle earlier this week. Yesterday KRON reporter Stanley Roberts returned to the Wiggle, and last night posted a follow-up segment in which multiple cyclists give him the finger. Enjoy:
If patios and pizzas are you thing (and if not, why?), check out Thrillist's profile of Nectar, the latest addition to the neighborhood. In addition to posting drool-inducing photos of both the aforementioned patio and pizza, Thrillist reports that beer and wine will be hitting Nectar's menu "in the very near future." Yay.
Have you noticed boys and girls with "savvy style" strolling down "of-the-moment" "lower-Divisadero" recently? Refinery29 has.
If you like the pop-up nights that Hapa Ramen has been throwing at Wing Wings recently, consider supporting their Kickstarter campaign to fund the building of their dream kitchen on Fillmore.
Eater reports that The Little Chihuahua will soon be opening a new location in the Mission on Valencia near 17th, in the soon-to-be-former home of Urbun Burger. This third incarnation of TLC should be open by November.
If you noticed a film crew on the 700 block of Haight Street this week, that was for a movie called SF Noir, which tells "three dysfunctional stories" about corruption and betrayal in San Francisco. Not sure when or if this one is likely to hit theaters, but if we hear anything, we'll let you know.
Finally, did you know the Aquarius Barber Shop used to be the Haight Street Delicatessen? And Wonderland was a bar called Giant Glass? Those are just a couple of the gems we discovered by playing with Pastmapper, an app brought to our attention by Uptown Almanac this week. The map is like Foursquare but frozen in 1966, allowing you to "check in" at locations as they were almost half a century ago. Fun stuff.
There you go -- plenty of conversation topics for that awkward date you'll be having this weekend. But if we missed anything, do let us know. tips [at] haighteration {{dot}} com.
