Lower Haight Leftovers: Corn Soup Edition
Resisting the urge to make a corny pun. Wait... shoot. Let's just get to this week's leftovers already, huh?

Tonight, Underground SF is the scene of epicsauce's monthly Push the Feeling. It's a night of synth tunes spun by DJs Bobby Browser and Chautauqua, along with residents YR SKULL and epicsauce. 9pm to 2am, 21+, and free with your Facebook RSVP.
Also tonight, DSF is throwing a rum 'n' whiskey-tinged party and trunk show. What's DSF, you ask? That's the shop formerly known as D-Structure, which is sporting a brand-new rebranding. Tonight's event will feature clothes from Charlie Noble's new line, plus a raffle for free clothes and other prizes, and the aforementioned booze. 8pm to 11pm, and a free raffle ticket with your RSVP.
On Saturday night, Cafe du Soleil hosts a Song Soirée with three members of local folk-pop band The Northerlies, along with Shareef Ali of Radical Folksonomy. It's 6:30pm to 9:30pm, and it's free.
Also Saturday night, don't forget, it's the opening of Jeremy Fish's "Where Hearts Get Left" show at Fifty24SF. Meet the artist, check out 60 of his SF-inspired pieces, and snag yourself one of his limited-edition screen prints. That's 218 Fillmore Street, 6pm to 9pm, with an afterparty at Milk Bar in the Upper Haight.
In case you missed it, a power outage struck 10,250 customers in the Lower/Upper Haights, Hayes Valley and Divisadero areas last night around 8:50pm. About half of the affected customers had their power restored within an hour or so, while others were dark for up to 3 hours. Aside from a couple of minor car accidents, and the disruptions of the Divisadero Art Walk and an Uppercasing mixer, things seemed to stay under control. Way not to panic, neighbors.
We're trying real hard not to sound like a crime blotter lately, but here's one we feel compelled to report. On Sunday afternoon, a house on the 100 block of Fillmore Street was robbed, with the thief entering through an open window. A laptop, iPhone, digital camera, and wallet were stolen while the resident was at home in the shower. So, the lesson: don't leave your windows open, even if you're on the second floor.
Do you speak barbecue? Memphis Minnie's (576 Haight) is taking applications for a new General Manager. Owner Bob Kantor says the job requires a combination of skills, including experience as a line cook and management know-how. Interested? Send your resume to [email protected].
This week, Two Jacks received a permit for hosting limited live performances at the restaurant. Though they had already been showcasing local musicians from time to time, now it's officially legit. So, expect lots more live entertainment at 401 Haight.
Finally, yesterday Haighteration reached a little milestone: our 3,000th Facebook fan. Are you one of the 3K? If not, just click that little "like" button up there in the box on the right, or visit our Facebook page. You'll be glad you did.
