Lower Haight Leftovers: Scone Edition
Happy Olympics opening day, SF Marathon weekend, and last weekend of July. But most importantly, happy Friday. Let's start things off right with some leftovers, shall we?

If it seems like we're always kicking off leftovers with news of a D-Structure DSF event, it's only because Devon and crew love hosting events! Tonight, it's the DDC & Recherche Trunk Shows and Hoodie Party. DDC and Recherche are two new local brands that make hoodies, you see. Stop by from 8pm to 11pm, and encounter a world of music, drinks, and hooded delights.
On Saturday, the brewtruc beer garden returns to 160 Church Street. From 1pm to 6pm in the parking lot behind the ol' Blockbuster, enjoy craft brews, food trucks, and live music, plus a nanobrew IPA competition. This one benefits the General Assistance Advocacy Project (GAAP), which advocates for and empowers homeless San Franciscans. Here's a photo of a recent one, so you have an idea what to expect:

On Saturday night (and every 2nd and 4th Saturday night of the month), Two Jacks hosts an open mic night dubbed Lyrical Exercise. Hosted by Eric Keith, the night invites you to "be inspired in the flow of all things positive and fun!" That's 401 Haight Street, from 6 to 9pm.
Also Saturday night, brand-spankin'-new boutique Wild Feather hosts a Vacation! Pop Up Shop. Wild Feather occupies 593 Haight, the former home of Black Pancake Records, which recently moved a couple of doors west to the former Lower Haters space. Saturday night's pop-up, slated from 6pm to 10pm, features women's and men's summer fashions from lots of designers, plus a DJ and "general fabulousness." So, swing by and check it out. And stay tuned for Wild Feather's official grand opening party next weekend.
On Sunday morning, the SF Marathon rolls through town -- and right through the heart of the Lower Haight, in fact. From the wee hours of the morning until noonish, Haight Street will be closed from Stanyan to Buchanan, with the 6 and 71 Muni lines rerouted. Cars will be allowed to cross Haight at Fillmore and Steiner. Waller will also be closed from Scott to Buchanan. Basically, if you're planning to drive or bike around here Sunday morning, you're going to face challenges.
Do you care about what happens to the Harding Theater? If so, take a moment and fill out this survey. NDDivis, the group that's hoping to save the theater, is looking for community feedback. Originally their goal was to purchase the Harding and repurpose it for community use, but recently the Harding was mysteriously taken off the market. So, NDDivis wants your input as to how they should proceed.
Finally, while we're talking about Divis, SFist posted a roundup of the Top 5 Gentrifiers on Divisadero this week. Though 3 of the 5 haven't even opened yet, we're pretty sure they're onto something. So, be on the lookout for more tourists and higher rents -- if they can get any higher, that is.
That's all we've got for you. If we missed anything though, we're all ears. tips [at] haighteration {{dot}} com.
