A frightening home invasion early yesterday morning left one Haight Street resident with stitches and his three roommates rattled.
The break-in occurred on Haight Street between Divisadero and Broderick shortly before 4am Wednesday, according to the SF Appeal. One of four residents who was home at the time emailed us yesterday with details of what happened. She says two men broke into their first-floor apartment, though she's not exactly sure how.

Along with the Supes, captains from the Northern and Park police stations will both be in attendance, as well as reps from San Francisco SAFE. That's 6pm at Bean There, next Wednesday, 9/26.

"It wasn't clear what the point of entry was, but one of the doors must have been unlocked. We have three doors between our house and the outside though so it would have been really unlikely that all three were unlocked. There were a number of windows in the house that didn't have locks."She describes the intruders as "two hispanic men," one of whom had a gun.
"They specifically asked for money and searched through the cabinets for valuables. They stuck the gun in one of my roommates faces and hit the other roommate in the back of his head with the gun twice."Meanwhile, she and her boyfriend were in their bedroom, which the intruders tried to enter.
"[O]ne of the two men tried really hard to get into my boyfriend and my's bedroom but we were blocking him from coming in and he shouted to the other robber to shoot the door but the other robber never did shoot the door."The robbers finally left after hearing the residents call the police. They made off with one laptop computer. The roommate who was beaten was taken to the hospital with a cut on the back of his head. He received stitches, and returned home later in the day. It's unclear whether the robbers specifically targeted the apartment, or if it was chosen randomly. But our source wants people in the neighborhood to be alert -- especially given the nature of the intrusion.
"[T]he cops said it is very, very rare for a robber to actually struggle with the inhabitants when they break in. Normally they just leave right away when they see someone... I don't know if they were looking for someone or something in particular or if it was random but either way it is good for people to be aware."
