CBS San Francisco reported police have arrested a man who took over the Chevron gas station convenience store (2399 Market Street) at 17th and Market adjacent to Jane Warner Plaza.
The store attendant called the police and reported a man who was behaving erratically around 10AM. The weird part is that after calling the police the report indicates that the attendent locked the man inside the store with her and then locked herself in the bathroom after the man rammed the front-door trying to get out. The man broke the glass and stepped out of the store, but hurried back in, headed to the attendant's office, and locked the doors as police arrived on scene. Police created a perimeter around the station and brought in crisis negotiators. The guy indicated he may try to cut himself during negotiations by placing a small knife near his wrist.
At 12:02PM the guy surrendered to the SFPD and the attendent left the bathroom unscathed. Police spokesperson Sgt. Michael Andraychak said the guy was reported to be in his 30's and from Livingston, CA which is about 2 hours South-East of San Francisco.
