Music, art, football and more -- there's plenty to keep you busy in the neighborhood this weekend.
Tonight, the weekend kicks off with a huge party at Underground SF (424 Haight), as Epicsauce celebrates a year of its "Push The Feeling" events. Very special guests YACHT (pictured above) will be on hand for a DJ set, along with Jeffrey Jerusalem and the usual resident DJs. Advance tickets are sold out, but epicsauce's Kevin Meenan (a Lower Haighter himself, it should be noted) tells us there will be a handful of $10 tickets at the door, so he suggests arriving around 9pm if you're sans ticket. You'll be rewarded with $2 PBRs available until 11pm. Congrats to Kevin and crew on a solid year of bringing great music to the Lower Haight!
Also tonight, 4x5 Gallery (442 Haight) hosts an opening reception for "Cliché," an exhibition by the photo collective 81 Bees. In "Cliché," 17 Bay Area artists take "a tongue and cheek look at clichés through the medium of photography." Tonight's opening runs from 6pm to 9pm, and "Cliché" will be on display at the gallery through February 21st.
We mentioned this a few weeks ago, but now it's upon us. Tomorrow (Saturday) night at Public Works, swing by "Out of Harm," a fundraiser / dance party for Mikey Harms of Lower Haters fame, who is suffering from a rare brain disorder called Chiari Malformation. There are plenty of DJs on the bill, and tickets start as low as $15, though you're of course welcome to donate more. That's 10pm to 2am at Public Works, 161 Erie Street.
Of course, there's also a little football game tomorrow afternoon. The 49ers take on the Packers at 5pm, and you know the neighborhood bars will be packed with fans watching the game. So go ahead and join them, if you so desire.
So there you go -- a wealth of ways to wile away your weekend. Make it a good one.
