What's up, peeps? We haven't done one of these in almost three months, but a bunch of news has piled up recently, and we just had to tell you about it.
Tonight, DSF hosts The Zatoon Art Show. Zatoon, a local music and apparel brand, is curating the show, which will feature works by three California artists. Tonight's event runs from 8pm to 11pm and promises "all the mixtures for a bad ass night, including tunes, booze, good people, and of course, amazing art."
Want to help clean up Alamo Square? Swing by the tennis courts tomorrow morning and join a volunteer day hosted by the Alamo Square Neighborhood Association. From 9am to noon you'll help green the park with your neighbors -- and enjoy complimentary coffee while you're at it.
The Lower Haight's new photography gallery, 4x5, has announced an open call for submissions for a Bay Bridge-themed exhibit. If you have any photos demonstrating a "unique perspective of the Bay Bridge," consider submitting them here. Submissions are due May 2nd, and the show will open on June 17th.
Neighbors Developing Divisadero, a group that was working to purchase the Harding Theater before it went off the market last year, released a statement now that the space is available again. Basically they are re-starting discussions with various stakeholders "in order to support a community-minded, collaborative, and financially sustainable plan to revitalize the Harding Theater."
Starting today, Costumes on Haight is having a "Big Dumb Sale" featuring "stupid low prices" on all sorts of items -- and they've created a funny little commercial for it: The sale runs through the rest of April.
And finally, while we're discussing videos, Bi-Rite released one this week documenting the two-year buildout of its Divisadero location in two minutes:
