Breaking: Silly Pink Bunny Stolen
In perhaps the most brazen theft of a treasured icon since Nicolas Cage swiped the Declaration of Independence, Jeremy Fish's silly pink bunny sculpture at Haight and Laguna was stolen in broad daylight today.

The theft occurred some time around 3 o'clock this afternoon, but few other details are available at this time. There is no obvious damage to the fence surrounding the site, and the only signs of the bunny are a few tiny pieces of pink-painted foam lying on the sidewalk. A security guard at the site told us that the former UC Berkeley Extension building typically has one person on patrol during the daytime, and two at night. However, today's theft was somehow executed without detection. They're hoping that someone at the bus stop across the street or perhaps in a nearby apartment may have witnessed the robbery. The bunny was scheduled to be demolished the week of September 9th, though plans were coming together just over the past few days to preserve the sculpture in some form. Apparently that will no longer be possible. Goodbye, silly pink friend. You had a good 2.5-year run welcoming tourists and residents alike to our neck of the woods. Here's hoping your captors treat you with the respect you deserve.
