New menu items, new hours, and plans for the new year -- there's plenty of activity at 518 Haight Street.
As we mentioned earlier this month, chef Matt Nudelman has moved on, and since his departure there have been some changes to the menu at Greenburger's. Salad specials, new new vegan dishes, and desserts like pie and custard have all been added in recent weeks, as well as brunch offerings like corned beef hash and banana nutella crepes. Speaking of brunch, this past weekend the restaurant began a new Saturday brunch service, from 10:30am to 2pm. So, it's now open for brunch on both Saturdays and Sundays. It will offset these extra weekend hours by shortening service on Monday nights, closing at 9pm instead of 10pm. When we first previewed Greenburger's way back in March of 2011, we were told they didn't want to get bogged down in seeking a beer and wine license until the restaurant was fully established. Apparently that moment has come; Greenburger's will apply for said license in the new year. And finally, the restaurant is looking for someone in the neighborhood to design a Greenburger's t-shirt. The selected designer will get a $100 gift card to the restaurant, a free shirt, and credit on the restaurant's website. Submissions are due by December 15th and can be sent to info [at] sfgreenburgers {{dot}} com. So, there's your Greenburger's roundup!
