Do you want to start biking in San Francisco, but are unsure how to start? With all the complicated bike lanes, laws, and potential accidents, it can seem like quite a hurdle to master the art of biking safely in the city.
Luckily, the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition has you covered.
Tonight they'll be offering an Intro to Safe Bicycling course, right in the heart of the Lower Haight. In an hour-long session, Joshua Kaufman and the San Francisco Bike Coalition will go over all the basics: choosing bikes for city riding, rules of the streets, and best routes to get around those hills (instead of going up and over them). If you've been off a bike for 10 years and want to get back on it, or if you’re already a cyclist but want to brush up on safety skills, this workshop is for you. That's tonight from 7:30pm to 8:30pm at the Peacock Lounge (552 Haight Street). The workshop is free - just sign up here.
