We just happened to be passing by that new chicken joint in the neighborhood, Proposition Chicken (1750 Market), when we noticed a permit application displayed in the window. Upon closer inspection, it seems the poultry restaurant is trying to change things up by adding alcoholic beverages to their menu.

The application states:
"The proposal is to convert an independent Limited Restaurant to a Restaurant in order to allow for on-site beer, wine, and/or liquor sales for drinking on the premises. It will continue to operate as a Bona Fide Eating Place."
Naturally, we wanted to know more. We caught up with Proposition Chicken’s owner, Ari Feingold, to chat more about his aspirations for the future of this newly established eatery. Ari mentioned that they've been in the process of switching their business zoning for the last several months, and expect it will take another three to six months before they can officially start selling beer and wine. Sure, it might be far down the road, but we wanted to know what customers could expect from this upcoming drink menu. Ari told us that there will be beers on tap and wines, and apparently they will be "doing a really cool happy hour." Obviously, a lot of details have yet to be ironed out. Ari also mentioned that with the new array of beverages might come new hours. “We could open later and probably stay open to 2am in the morning eventually on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night,” Ari said. Customers can also anticipate some outdoor seating coming near the front door on Market Street, but that won’t happen until a few months after they start selling beer and wine. We'll keep you up to date as Proposition Chicken releases their drink list and any changes to their hours. Stay tuned!
