The city's winter cold snap has finally passed, and it's looking to be a lively weekend in the neighborhood.
Tonight, catch the opening of 'We Blaze Away', an art exhibit showcasing the playful and erotic work of Mexico City artist Felix D'Eon at Magnet. The opening goes from 8pm to 10pm, 4122 18th St., and will feature some eye-catching art (here's his NSFW website), so stop by if you're able.

As always, the weekend will be busy at the Castro Theater, which will screen a horror double header tonight (Hour of the Wolf, 7pm, and The Shining, 8:50pm). Tomorrow, look out for Rear Window (2:45pm, 7pm) and Road Games (5pm, 9:10pm), while Sunday will see a family-friendly matinee of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1pm), followed by Gone Girl (3pm, 8pm) and White of the Eye (5:45pm).

Tomorrow at 1pm, catch some line dancing with Sundance Saloon in Jane Warner Plaza. Organized by the Castro/Upper Market Community Benefit District, the event is billed as "an hour of outdoor dancing in the heart of the Castro."

If you're in a political frame of mind, two of the Harvey Milk LGBT Democratic Club's board members are running for Assembly District delegates this weekend, which means that any registered democrat in Assembly Districts 17 and 19—all of San Francisco—can vote. Harvey Milk Club member Mahnani Clay is running for AD 17, with elections held tomorrow (Jan. 10th) from 10am-noon at the African American Art and Culture Complex (762 Fulton St.) The Club's Alex Walker is likewise running for AD 19 on Sunday (Jan. 11th), 11:30am to 1:30pm at the Pacelli Event Center - Merced Room (145 Lake Merced Blvd, Daly City). Your voting choice is, of course, entirely your own, but if you've got a horse in this race, don't forget to make your vote heard this weekend.

On Sunday, don't forget about the San Francisco AIDS Foundation's big PReP event, which will be held starting at 1pm at the Eureka Valley Recreation Center (100 Collingwood St.). Current PrEP takers will be sharing their personal experiences, and people will break off into small groups to talk about PrEP and ask questions about the treatment.

And on Sunday evening, look out for the premiere of season two of HBO's Looking, which screened a couple preview episodes at the Castro Theater this past week. If you don't have HBO at home and are hoping to catch the show, the Midnight Sun will be playing the show with sound every Sunday at 10pm, no cover.

In other tidbits from last week, Margaret Cho stopped by Hot Cookie, the Castro Country Club sought models for a shoot this Saturday, and an alarming blaze at 636 Castro St. turned out to be a dryer on fire
