Pull out your calendars and get ready—there's no shortage of neighborhood happenings taking place in the second half of March.
- Looking for plans for today? Walk over to Geary and Masonic for a presentation and survey by artist Scott Oliver, in preparation of his upcoming piece "Points of Departure." Scott will be on the corner until 4pm today.
- Have you made it to The Mill's Friday night pizza extravaganza yet? Monday's pizza night is cancelled for a Four Barrel Family Party, but on the menu for March 20th is kale and pepita pesto with red beets and mozzarella. The'll also be serving salad, water kiefer soda, and cookies.
- If you're looking for work, Repose Coffee is currently hiring in anticipation of its upcoming opening date. If you have barista experience, send in your resume to reposecoffee {at} gmail {dot} com.
- The fundraiser for beloved Madrone bartender Em Wah is coming up fast, on March 21st. Stop by for some tunes and drinks, and donate towards speeding up his recovery.
- If you're hankering to meet some long-time neighborhood residents and learn a little more about what's happening in your front yards, try attending a neighborhood association meeting. The North of the Panhandle Neighborhood Association (NOPNA) is meeting on Thursday, March 19th at 7pm, at Oasis Cafe. If you live closer to Alamo Square, the next Alamo Square Neighborhood Association (ASNA) meeting will be held at Redemption Church on Monday, March 23rd at 7pm.
- Ever wonder why the Wiggle is called the Wiggle? What Lower Haight looked like before it was covered in houses? Or why Church and Market always floods? Join Joel Pomerantz of Thinkwalks on March 26th for a fascinating walking tour of one of San Francisco's most common commuter routes. More info here.
- Also on March 26th is Divisadero's next Microhood event, put on by the Bold Italic. We'll be digging in to this more later on, but in the meantime, get a preview of the events here.
Have a busy and fruitful second half of March, Hoodline readers!
