It's been another full-tilt week in the Inner Sunset. Here are the stories we've been following.
The 14th annual San Francisco Zine Fest took place last Sunday in Golden Gate Park's County Fair Building, and we talked to its executive director about its impact and its future. In other artistic news, a reception was held for a new exhibit at the recently opened San Francisco Women Artists on Irving Street.
Meanwhile, on the crime beat, Capt. Sanford of SFPD Park Station outlined his plans to combat car break-ins and clear out homeless encampments during a community meeting.
Over in Cole Valley, vintage design and toy store Tantrum announced its plans to expand into the former laundromat next store.
Finally, Hoodline sat down with the owner of the Inner Sunset's own The Little Shamrock, the second oldest bar in San Francisco, to learn more about its history.
Here's what's on tap for the weekend:

11am-2pm
This event at Waller Street and Golden Gate Park will offer plenty of safety equipment so locals can try out fun items like slack lines, climbing equipment, disc golf, and BMX bikes. Admission is free.
Volunteer Cleanup of the Hidden Steps
1-3pm
All are welcome to join the Hidden Garden Steps monthly community clean-up, which is always held on the second Saturday of the month on 16th Avenue between Kirkham and Lawton. Tools and gloves are provided; donations of succulents and California native plants are always appreciated. This is a great chance to meet neighbors and hear about other projects under discussion.
Sunday, September 13th
11am-5pm (lunch 1-3pm)
The Big Lunch is back for its second year! Come eat with and get to know your neighbors at an outdoor event organized by the Inner Sunset Park Neighbors as part of the Sunset Sundays series of events. Tables will be set up on Irving Street between 9th and 10th Avenues; be sure to make or bring some food, as well as utensils, plates, and table decorations. Games and activities will be provided. More info here.
11am-2pm
If you feel like dancing more than eating, head over to JFK Drive in GGP (near the de Young Museum or 8th Avenue) for a free swing dance party. If you don't know the moves, they offer a free lesson at noon—no partner required.
1:30pm, free
