The fourth annual Jammin' On Haight Pranksgiving Weekend starts next Friday, with art, fashion, music, and more. We caught up with the shop's co-owner, Sunshine Powers, to learn what it's all about.

Pranksgiving weekend event kicks off with a Black Fri-dye fashion show on November 27th at the Red Victorian. The show will feature the shop's newest tie-dye creations, all of which are cut and sewn in the Bay Area and dyed by hand at Jammin'. (Expect plenty of color: "There is no black in Black Fri-dye," an event listing explains.)
You can check out pictures from previous events on Jammin's Facebook page to get an idea, but the general aesthetic is high-end tie-dye dresses, jumpsuits, leggings, and hoodies.

There's also fashion for kids, with kids modeling in the show. "It's a family event, and the kids are my favorite part," Powers said. Her favorite photos of families from past events are taped to the windows at Jammin'.

The show will also feature live music from Kofi Burbridge of the Tedeschi Trucks Band, Dan Lebowitz, Reed Mathis from Tea Leaf Green, Dave Watts, and Brian Jordan, with special guests and surprises promised. A portion of the proceeds from alcohol sales at the show will benefit Taking it to the Streets, the homeless outreach nonprofit based next door at Mom's Tattoo.
There will also be a raffle, which will partially benefit Streets. Powers said they'll be giving away outfits from the show, as well as one of their tapestries; Jammin' has recently started printing their tapestries, to make them more affordable.
The show runs from 7-11pm. Tickets are $20, and can be purchased in person at Jammin', over the phone (415-817-1027), or by visiting their website.

The Pranksgiving festivities continue on Saturday night, when Powers and co. will take over the Boom Boom Room for their annual Panty Party, which awards prizes for the most creative panties. Burbridge, Watts, and Jordan will return for more music, joined by Mike Olmos and Joe Cohen of West Coast Sounds. Tickets to the event (8pm) are $15, and they include tie dye panties and boxers.
The event winds up back in the Haight on Sunday, for an art symposium at Jammin' featuring Stanley Mouse, Jay Blakesburg, David Talbot, and Charles Shaw. It's from 3-6pm, and it's free and open to the public. You can RSVP here.
"This weekend is our holiday party, a chance for us to celebrate the Haight," Powers said. "We want to bring back the color and vibrancy of this neighborhood. And play with rainbows."
