Pop-up establishments seem to be all the rage lately. Whether it’s a restaurant, café or retail shop, pop-ups are popular because they usually offer visitors something unique to try. Since these events only take place for a limited amount of time, they also become very popular.
A good example is New York’s first Sailor Moon themed café, which debuted for one day only on January 31st, 2016. The event took place inside Hanamizuki Café and was organized by two friends, known by their cosplay names as Akiran and Kou.
The event itself was very intimate and only a limited amount of visitors were able to participate. Patrons needed to purchase a $25.00 ticket in advance in order to enter.
For that price, fans were able to interact with the wait staff dressed up as characters from the show. They also received a plate of Sailor Moon themed desserts, an exclusive postcard set made by Artist Staff, and an hour of quality time with their "favorite Sailor Senshi."
If you missed the event this year, no worries. Akiran and Kou are planning to organize more pop-ups in the future. Who knows what the theme will be next time around.
