New York City is full of secrets. I recently discovered one in Grand Central Terminal, thanks to a friend. If you haven’t heard, in NYC’s iconic train station, there’s an unmarked archway that’s worth visiting. It’s near the Oyster Bar & Restaurant, which is located on the lower level of the terminal at 42nd Street and Vanderbilt Avenue.
To the casual passerby, the archway doesn’t look like anything special. However, it’s actually a whispering gallery. A person can speak towards the wall and still be heard by someone else facing the opposite corner, located roughly 30 feet away. Try it out if you get the chance!
