Thanks to the folks at BuzzBuzz Home, we now have a closer look at the design for an eight-story condo building that may revamp one corner of the Tenderloin's Little Saigon corridor.

Last June, JS Sullivan Development submitted preliminary plans to demolish the one-story building at 719-725 Larkin St. (at Olive) and construct an eight-story, 42-unit residential building in its place.

However, updated renderings of the proposed building by architect Alan Tse show that its modern design has been toned down. In lieu of boxy units protruding from the building, more recent renderings show a flat facade, with inset windows.

It also appears that the residential units and the ground-floor retail space at the corner of Larkin and Olive will be more transparent, with windows wrapping around the corner.

Renderings of the proposed building posted online last December.

719-725 Larkin St. is currently home to Susan's Massage, Vietnamese restaurant Four Seasons and Excellent Dry Cleaners. JS Sullivan's current plans for the new development call for 1,464 square feet of retail space—down from the 13,280 square feet the current building offers. There's no word yet on whether any of the existing businesses will be invited back if the development is approved.
