While it’s difficult to find the perfect gift for that special someone, there’s no excuse for resorting to scented lotions and paper weights (shame on you). Show your best friend, mom or significant other that you really care by putting some thought into their birthday present this year. Nothing says "I'm thinking of you" more than an ancient temple necklace from Kenya or a teeny tiny succulent:

3. Indie Craft Experience
In 2005, Shannon Mulkey Green and Christy Petterson set out to organize an indie craft market to provide opportunities for artists and vendors to sell their products. Today, the Indie Craft Experience has evolved into a community affair with two annual events: Summer ICE in June and ICE Holiday Shopping Spectacular, which takes place the weekend before Thanksgiving.
