Public safety officials are asking the public to avoid the Potrero Hill area while they investigate a report of a suspicious object near the intersection of Wisconsin & 22nd Streets.

In a tweet posted at 5:20pm, Capt. Raj Vaswani of Bayview Station said SFPD's Explosive Ordinance Disposal team was on the scene, and that Muni is rerouting buses with routes that pass through the vicinity. Riders on the 10 line can expect delays.

[Update: 8:04pm} At 7:59pm, an SFPD spokesperson indicated that the department's bomb-disposal team has "rendered the suspicious device safe" and residents are free to return to their homes; Muni service will resume shortly.

[Update: 7:23am, April 25] At 9:38pm, Capt. Vaswani tweeted that the bomb disposal team rendered a pipe bomb and a grenade "safe after a small detonation."
