A new Thai and Japanese spot, offering hot pot and more, has opened for business in the neighborhood. The new addition to Broadway, called Morfire, is located at 1806 12th Ave. (between Howell St & Denny Way).
The new restaurant, which opened in early June, offers a broad selection of appetizers, from teriyaki wings to gyoza, but the main draw is its hot pot offering, served Thai-, Japanese-, or Chinese-style. From Morfire's website:
In Thai language, "mor fai" (หม้อไฟ) means "pot with fire" or "Hot Pot". Many countries in Asia have their own version of hot pot. Each version has its own unique broth and sauce. We proudly bring to you the Thai style Hot Pot with unique Thai sauce, along with the popular Japanese and Chinese styles that we and many people love.
Morfire also features a full bar with speciality cocktails, as well as a selection of wine and beer to cool you down. (Find the full menu here.)
With a five-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp so far, Morfire seems to be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
Matt J., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 13th, said: "Awesome food, location, and decor. The owners were super friendly, and and had plenty of suggestions for us. We had a great time and would return again!"
Yelper Tika B. added: "Our friends took us to dinner here last night and it was sooooo good! We have lots of traditional Thai restaurants in Seattle and but I hadn't tried the 'hot pot' variety yet. The food was delicious."
And Theo S. said: ""This place is amazing! Totally unlike any Thai food we've had before. Fresh ingredients and great sauces and some really interesting dishes."
