Craving ice cream and frozen yogurt? You're in luck: a location of Sweet Charlie's has opened its doors at 1921 Walnut St. in Rittenhouse.
The business, which aims to "combine the art of making Thai inspired ice cream rolls with modern American showmanship," opened May 31st. Like its Market East predecessor, your choice of ice cream or froyo base is made to order using a below-20-degree surface, then scraped into rolls and served with a variety of topping options, from fruit to donut bits to chocolate sauce and more. (See menu options here.)
Sweet Charlie's has gotten good reviews thus far, with a four-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp.
David R., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 3rd, said: "What a cool and fun experience. It is so unique to watch ice cream being made in front of you. And then to have a variety of flavors mixed in and rolled into fresh ice cream batter."
Yelper Lauren P. added: “Went for the grand opening, and was really impressed! Ice cream was delicious, and and it was a very fun experience. I had the nutella banana with whipped cream and oreos."
