There's a brand-new sushi bar in town. Located at 651 W Washington Blvd. in the West Loop, the new spot is called SuChi Sushi.
SuChi is "founded by the former owners of successful sushi hot-spots, Joon Soh of Ora Sushi and Mitch Kim of Toro Sushi," according to its owners. Aimed at the neighborhood's lunch crowd, it's currently open weekdays from 11am-2pm.
The menu includes sushi, poke bowls, and sushi burritos. Its opening menu includes lunch combos ranging in price from $7-$11, and features a broad range of sushi rolls, plus a signature "SuChi burrito" containing sushi rice, lettuce, avocado, cucumber, kanpyo, oshinko, and a choice of protein.
The new spot has gotten an enthusiastic reception thus far, with a five-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp.
Peter S., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 5th, said: "Loved the sunny roll. The portions are great and the fish is so fresh. You get 2 rolls and edamame for just 11$. They're only open for lunch for now so come in before 2pm!"
Yelper Lauren C. added: “I LOVE the sushi burrito here and it's gluten-free! (When you get spicy tuna) I would definitely recommend it! The owners Joon and Mitch are also so nice!!"
And Rose A. said, "Fabulous rolls and poke bowls! Awesome sushi rice.. totally done right.. this place is a hidden gem! Staff and sushi chef are awesome too!"
