A new Vietnamese spot, offering seafood and more, has debuted in the neighborhood. Located at 1306 S King St. (between S 12th Ave & S Rainier Ave) in International District, the newcomer is called Bun & Oc.
Named after a snail noodle soup found in Vietnam, the eatery specializes in Vietnamese-style escargot, shellfish and seafood dishes.
The restaurant, which has been open since July 15th, offers a variety of options on its multi-page menu, from appetizers to salads, noodles, rice dishes, 23 different variations of escargot and more. Wash it all down with your choice of Thai iced tea, lemon soda with salted plums, fresh-pressed juice, beer and more.
With a four-star rating out of eight reviews on Yelp so far, the fresh addition has gotten a good response.
Sally L., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 19th, said: "I went on a Wednesday afternoon. Easy to find parking. Greeted warmly. We pretty much ordered anything the waiter recommended us."
Yelper Calvin M. added: “Got the Bun Thit Nuong Hue (grilled pork vermicelli bowl) and Oc Len Xao Dua ("coconut swirley snails") I'll start with the snails and since that is this restaurant's specialty. I thought this dish was really good!"
And Phuong V. said: "One of my top food memories is eating óc len xào da in the streets of Vietnam thinking it's the best thing I've ever tasted. Super happy that Bún & Oc just opened in Seattle specializing in Vietnamese escargot and shellfish."
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Bun & Oc is open Monday–Thursday from 5pm–10pm, Friday from 5pm–midnight, Saturday from 11am–midnight, and Sunday from 11am–10pm.
