A new diner, bar and breakfast and brunch spot has opened up shop in the neighborhood. The new arrival to West Seattle Junction, called Great American Diner & Bar, is located at 4752 California Ave SW. (between S Erskine Way & Alaska St).

The new owners of this neighborhood restaurant, Singh Biryah and Glen Quadros, are working together to break the curse that's affected this specific corner. (Before this venture, Shelby's Bistro and Ice Cream Shop was only open for six months before closing down.)

With years of working in the restaurant business together, most recently at Yankee Grill in Renton, they're aiming to bring classic American diner fare to their new business. You can expect to find traditional options like eggs benedict ($11.99), french toast ($8.99), blueberry pancakes ($9.99) and much more on its menu—and for those looking for adult beverages, don't forget about the full bar.

With a 4.0-star rating out of two reviews on Yelp so far, the new diner has made a promising start.

Michelle S., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 3rd, said: "When at diner it is important to actually order standard diner food to be fair, so a grilled patty melt, fries with an iced cold Rainer was my choice. I was not disappointed."

Yelper Ari Y. added: "First time here (second day of soft opening). Staff is extremely friendly, as is the owner. I went for breakfast and had a hard time making a choice, and finally settling on a spinach omelet with feta. Delicious!"

With a price rating of two dollar signs on Yelp, an outing to Great American Diner & Bar is estimated to cost $11-$30 per person.

Head on over to check it out: Great American Diner & Bar is open Friday and Saturday from 7am to midnight, and Sunday to Thursday from 7am to 11pm.
