If you've got teriyaki on the mind, a recent opening is need-to-know. The new arrival to the University District, called BB's Teriyaki Grill, is located at 4221 University Way NE. (between 42nd St & 43rd St).
According to the newcomer's website, "BB" is an homage to the restaurant owner's mentor, who took him under his wing and taught him the "teriyaki trade."
At the new fast-casual restaurant, customers start by choosing three items from a list that includes, rice, vegetable stir fry, noodles and more. Select chicken or tofu, both of which can come regular or spicy, for your protein before mixing it all up with your choice of regular or spicy sauce. (See the full menu here.)
With a 4.5-star rating out of 15 reviews on Yelp so far, the fresh addition is on its way to developing a local fan base.
Chase O., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 17th, said: "BBs sweet sweet BBs. What does BBs stand for? Best Bang for you buck? Blistful Bites every time? Bafflingly Beautiful Chicken? Who's to say and but I say that all the above and more could apply."
And Jim D. said: "It's teriyaki, grilled chicken over rice. A classic combo I've been eating on the Ave for a decade. This place is clean, hip, and with style elements from Chipotle and Cali Burger up the street."
Listed at one dollar sign on Yelp, you can expect to spend less than $10 per person on a visit to BB's Teriyaki Grill.
