Looking to chow down on some Mediterranean fare? A new spot has you covered. Located at 4746 California Ave SW. (between S Erskine Way & Alaska St) in West Seattle Junction, the fresh arrival is the first brick-and-mortar location for the popular Falafel Salam food truck.

Open since July 6th, the new spot replaces Yummy Teriyaki. Behind it is chef Shimi Kahn, an Israeli transplant who says he "craved the authentic bold fresh flavors he learned to love in Tel-Aviv falafel shops," and began slinging falafel at farmers markets in 2009.

Expect a broad selection of dishes at the new location, including falafel, chicken shwarma, and lamb gyro sandwiches, and plates like the rice bowl special, Middle Eastern salad, and "The Hesitator"—which offers a little bit of everything for $12.77. (See the full menu here.)

The new addition has gotten off to a solid start thus far, with a four-star rating out of two reviews on Yelp.

Jordan S., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 11th, said: "Falafel Salam is a great spot to grab a quick bite or have an easy lunch. I'd suggest The lamb gyro. The bread for the gyros is fresh and soft and the lamb is spiced very well."

Yelper Clementine R. added: “Falafel is quite good and tahini is mellow and fabulous."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Falafel Salam is open Tuesday–Thursday from 4pm–9pm, Friday and Saturday from 3pm–10pm, and Sunday from 3pm–8pm. (It's closed on Monday).
