There's a brand-new brewery in town. Called Open Outcry Brewing, the new arrival is located at 10934 S Western Ave. (between 109th St & 110th St) in Morgan Park.
According to the new owners, the brewpub was "born out of a desire to scratch a creative itch, start a vibrant business in the city we live, and brew exceptional beer to share with our neighbors."
The 4,000-square-foot space, located less than a mile from Horse Thief Hollow Brewery, is large enough for about 110 people and features a community tap room with 12 taps in total, that will "rotate with a focus on seasonality." In addition to beer, chef Ceasar Lopez, who formerly worked at Fuller House, has come up with a solid menu of bar bites featuring Neapolitan pizza, salads, sliders, sandwiches and more.
With a 4.5-star rating out of two reviews on Yelp so far, Open Outcry Brewing has been warmly received by patrons.
Sarah S., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 21st, said: "What a fun concept. Great pizza with a huge variety of different topping combinations. Excellent beer and reasonably priced cocktails. Everyone we interacted with could not of been nicer and more welcoming."
Yelper Eric S. added: “Great beer and great pizza. They need to hire more staff immediately. The waits for food and service are understandable having just opened but they better adapt quick.”
