A new gastropub and seafood spot, offering beer, wine, spirits and more, has opened up shop in the neighborhood. Called Tankard & Tun, the new arrival is located at 1415 1st Ave. (between Union St & Pike St) in Pike Place Market.
The newest venture from the Pike Brewing Company, which has been in business for 27 years, gives patrons the opportunity to pair its craft beers with tasty, locally sourced food.
The eatery has an oyster bar, dining area big enough for 50 people, casual brew deck, private mezzanine level and an expanded fermentation cellar. Expect to see oysters and a variety of seafood appetizers and mains on the menu, along with special menus for happy hour, lunch options, and late-night happy hour, which is on offer from 10pm 'til closing. The newcomer has already attracted fans thus far, with a five-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp.
Jason G., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 5th, said: "Had the opportunity to visit the soft opening and the people of Pike hit a homerun. The inviting, bright atmosphere had a very clean, and nautical theme."
Yelper Vanessa R. added: “Had a great time at this brand-new restaurant in Seattle at the Pike Place market. This is where we will be coming when we are in Seattle to enjoy their large variety of microbrews."
And Tyler B. said: "The staff was incredibly friendly, warm, and and welcoming. That is one of the most important things to me. The Chef came out and personally explained the sourcing and innovative thinking that went into several of the dishes."
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Tankard & Tun is open daily from 11am–midnight.
